Join us on October 5th, from 3 PM onwards for an immersive pottery workshop hosted at Lila Art Café in collaboration with Aroha. Whether you're a beginner or an enthusiast, this hands-on workshop offers a creative space to explore the art of pottery.
Workshop Highlights:
Hands-on Sessions: Ideal for beginners and pottery enthusiasts alike, this workshop offers a hands-on experience where you can create your own pottery pieces.
Explore Hand-Building Techniques: Learn the essentials of pottery through three primary hand-building techniques: pinching, coiling, and slab-building. These methods will guide you in shaping clay into unique forms.
Introduction to Wedging: Understand the importance of wedging to prepare your clay for crafting. This step ensures your clay is free from air bubbles and uniform in texture, making it easier to work with.
Personalized Guidance: Throughout the session, you’ll receive one-on-one guidance to create two distinct art pieces. Whether you're aiming for functional pieces or decorative items, this workshop encourages you to explore your creativity.
Textures & Surface Decoration: Learn how to add character and uniqueness to your pottery by experimenting with textures and surface decorations, bringing your pieces to life with intricate details.
Kiln-Fired Pottery: The pieces you create will be kiln-fired to ensure their durability. These will be ready for pickup in approximately a month, with the exact date announced post-workshop.
